Bobcats overpower Warriors in a landslide win

The Robert F. Munroe Bobcats gave their rivals no chance to take a lead during the school’s away game versus the Aucilla Christian Academy Warriors of Jefferson County on Friday, October 2.

The Bobcats traveled to the Warriors’ home-field in a much-anticipated game between the two schools; Robert F. Munroe and Aucilla Christian Academy have long been athletic rivals, with the games between the two offering an extra level of competition.

Additionally, both teams were undefeated prior to their meeting on October 2.

Before coming to the Warrior field that Friday, the Bobcats held an undefeated 4-0 win record for the season. Meanwhile, the Warriors held a similar 3-0 undefeated streak for the 2020 football season.

At 7 p.m., the game between the two teams began, and the Bobcats wasted no time in gaining a quick lead on the Warriors.

By the end of the first quarter, the Bobcats had already doubled their game against the Warriors, with a first-quarter score of 16-8 in the Bobcats’ favor.

During the second quarter, the Bobcats managed to block the Warriors from scoring a single point, with the second quarter scoreboard showing 14-points for the Bobcats and 0 for the Warriors.

The Bobcats collected 15 points during the third quarter, again keeping their rivals pinned down and unable to score a single point.

The Warriors put up a bit of a fight in the final quarter, with the Bobcats scoring 0 and the Warriors claiming 6 points, but the final struggle against the overpowering Bobcats wasn’t enough to give the Warriors a win.

This game, with its final outcome of 45-14 (in the Bobcats’ favor) elevated the Bobcats’ overall season score to 5-0.

The next game for the Robert F. Munroe football team will be a home game against the Rocky Bayou Christian School Knights. The game will be held on Friday, October 16 at the Corry Field in Quincy. Kick-off will begin at 7 p.m.
