Gadsden County Health Department kicks off Healthy Weight Initiative

The Florida Department of Health’s Gadsden County Division had its kickoff for its 2018 Get Going Gadsden Healthy Weight Initiative Challenge on Friday, February 2 in Quincy.

The challenge is a six-month challenge that encourages healthy eating, exercising and healthy lifestyle changes.

There were five vendors present, and more than 30 people participated in the two-mile walk and signed up for the challenge.

The Gadsden County Department of Health says it is trying to help improve the health of county residents as working out sometimes can be hard, but working out with a partner makes it fun.

That’s why participants in the challenge were encouraged to sign up to be part of teams.

At the end of the six-month period, the team with the most pounds lost will be announced and celebrated by the Gadsden County Department of Health.

For more information about the program, call Ronterrius Clark at (850) 875-7200, ext. 400.
