Havana Hills Bike Ride set for February 25

More than 100 cyclists are expected in Havana on Sunday, February 25 for the third annual Havana Hills Bike Ride.

The ride will begin at 8:30 a.m. at 312 1st Street N.W. in Havana.

The event is considered a recreational cycling event and the beginning of the cycling season.

All riders will start at the same time and two distances are offered.

One covers 48 miles to Attapulgus, Ga. and back to Havana.

The other covers 88 miles to Climax, Ga. and back to Havana.

The course meanders through the picturesque back roads of northern Gadsden County and southern Decatur County in Georgia.

It features hilly terrain and beautiful countryside.

This event is for serious riders. Those wishing to participate should be experienced enough to endure the distance they choose to ride.

Regular registration is $35 through Feb. 10 (plus a $15 T-shirt option).

Late registration is $40 through Feb. 24. Packet pick-up is Saturday, Feb. 24, 1 to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 25, 7 to 8 a.m., at Wanderings (312 N.W. 1st Street) in Havana.
