Beside the placid waters of Lake Talquin, area officials ceremonially broke ground last Thursday on the $50,000 expansion project at Pat Thomas Park, 949 Hopkins Landing Road, Quincy. The grant-funded project includes adding new RV and tent sites. Current sites often remain at capacity, forcing park officials to turn away dozens of potential campers each week.
Commissioners Taylor and Holt both called the expansion initiative “an investment,” agreeing the additional amenities could increase revenue by $30,000 a year. For more information, call Gadsden County administration at (850) 875-8650.
