“Breakfast With A Battle Buddy” is the name that the Gadsden County Veterans Service Office is giving to the first-ever event that the office is hosting for local veterans.
As part of their way of recognizing veterans for their service – “year round, not just on Veterans Day” – the office says that this will be a free breakfast for the service men and women of Gadsden County.
“It’s going to be a great day and a good breakfast too,” said the Director of Veterans Service United States Army Retired Master Sergeant Michael Jackson. “This breakfast will allow both veterans and Gadsden County staff time to enjoy and socialize by sharing a meal together.”
The free breakfast will be held at the Gadsden County Extension Building, which is located at 2140 West Jefferson Street, in Quincy, on Friday, July 16.
The breakfast will take place from 8 – 10 a.m.
Veterans who attend Breakfast With A Battle Buddy are invited to wear their former service uniforms to show their pride in their branch of services.
The Gadsden County Veteran Services Office is a resource center for eligible veterans and their families.
The Veterans Office collaborates with the Department of Veterans Affairs and other organizations to ensure veterans and their families receive the entitlements they have earned for their military service.
Gadsden County Veterans Services staff advise veterans, veterans’ survivors and their dependents of their rights under military service benefits act and other relevant legislation.
The office also assists local veterans and dependents in the office in the preparation and follow-up of applications for state and federal benefits, including home loans; review and file claims for veteran benefits and develop and maintain a close relationship with other veteran service agencies.
