The Chattahoochee Lions Club held a fundraising event on Friday, March 24 at the Johnny Johnson Pavilion.
From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., supporters could purchase beef or pork sausage dogs at $5 each, prepared by Chief Cook James Moutrie.
“We do a fundraiser each year,” said Lions Club Vice President Jim Folds. “Usually it’s the Pancake Breakfast, but this year we decided to do the sausage dogs.”
The Lions Club also sold their famous mops and brooms at the event, along with tickets for an upcoming raffle to be held on April 7, with two lucky winners each receiving a large Easter basket loaded with goodies.
The raffle tickets are still available for purchase at the Envision Credit Union branch in Chattahoochee for $1 each, or 6 tickets for $5.
All proceeds from this event will be used to fund the various community support activities the Chattahoochee Lions Club is involved in, which include financial support for other local fundraisers, annual contributions to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, Southeastern Guide Dogs, and other resources for the visually impaired, donations of school supplies to Chattahoochee Elementary School, helping to fund local scholarships, and more.
