A crowd of local dignitaries gathered Thursday to break ground on the reconstruction of the Williams Stevens School. The school, which was burnt to the ground just over a year ago, was a historic landmark for the community. It was named in honor of an early African American doctor and superintendent of Quincy City Schools whose legacy has helped shape education in the community.
