Drugs, cash, gun seized in recent felony busts

In two separate, unrelated traffic stops this past week, the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office seized a substantial quantity of drugs and cash, recovered a stolen firearm, and made three felony arrests.

A traffic stop near Havana this past Thursday, December 6, netted multiple felonies and the arrest of 27-year-old Ronterrious Daniels. Officers with the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force allegedly found an unspecified quantity of cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy, as well as a stolen gun, in Daniels’ vehicle.

Daniels was arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking, felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a stolen firearm and violation of probation. He is currently being held without bond at the Gadsden County Jail.

The sheriff’s office made two additional drug arrests in a separate, unrelated incident Saturday, December 8.

Saturday afternoon, deputies pulled over Brenton Smith, 20, and DeQuarious Blount, 21. The traffic stop stemmed from a hit-and-run that occurred earlier the same day near Quincy, Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sergeant Anglie Holmes-Hightower reported.

A vehicle search yielded an unspecified quantity of marijuana, according to a Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office report. Both Smith and Blount were charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Gadsden County Jail Saturday; both were released on $3,000 bonds Sunday, December 9.
