Gadsden boys’ hoops teams advance in state play

Two boys’ basketball teams from Gadsden County advanced in the state basketball playoffs with home victories on Thursday evening.

Crossroad Academy Charter School bested Eagle’s View of Jacksonville, 78-56, on Thursday in the Class 2A regional semifinals.

Crossroad will next face Impact Christian of Jacksonville at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night, February 27, with the chance to reach the State Final Four March 5-10 in Lakeland.

The game will be at the West Gadsden Middle School gymnasium in Greensboro.

This is Crossroad Charter’s first year in state competition.

Meanwhile, Gadsden County High School blew out West Florida Tech of Pensacola, 64-36, on Thursday in the Class 5A regional quarterfinals.

Gadsden County will next travel to Pensacola Catholic at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night, February 27, in a regional semifinal with the chance to reach the Class 5A regional final game on Friday night, March 2.

The State Final Four for  Class 5A also is March 5-10 in Lakeland.
