Gadsden County Sheriff Endorses U.S. Rep. Al Lawson for Re-Election

This week, Gadsden County Sheriff Morris A. Young endorsed U.S. Rep. Al Lawson (FL-05), who is running for re-election for Florida’s 5th Congressional District. Lawson said he is pleased to have the support of the sheriff from his hometown.

Lawson said he was happy to have Young’s endorsement, adding the sheriff is familiar with Lawson’s commitment to the district.

Last month, Lawson received the endorsement of Jacksonville’s Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), which represents more than 3,000 active and retired law-enforcement officers.

Young said Rep. Lawson has been dedicated to North Florida for years, adding he has watched the congressman grow from state representative, state senator and, now, congressman.

Young said he is proud to know Lawson and thinks he is doing a “great job” in Washington.
