Gadsden junior selected for Talquin Tour

Twenty-four high school juniors from Gadsden, Leon, Liberty and Wakulla counties were selected in February to participate in the Talquin Electric Cooperative Youth Tour at the state Capitol in Tallahassee.

Students were chosen based on academics, leadership, communication skills, and volunteer service in their schools and communities.

From this outstanding group of leaders, four students and two alternates were selected to represent Talquin at a National Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. this summer.

Those students included Malina Murray of Gadsden County High School.

The Talquin delegates will travel to Washington, D.C. in June where they will meet with approximately 1,800 students from all over the United States.

They will visit historic landmarks and continue to learn about cooperatives and government during the tour.
