They took different paths but both Florida and Florida State received bids to the NCAA Baseball Tournament and both will host first round events.
The Gators who backed their way into the overall number 1 seed will host Columbia, Jacksonville, and Florida Atlantic at Gainesville beginning Friday at noon when the Gators meet the Lions at noon.
That game will be followed by a Dolphin-Owl matchup.
The Seminoles will welcome Samford, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma to Tallahassee with play beginning Friday at 3pm when the Sooners and the Bulldogs meet. That will be followed at 7pm by a Florida State-Samford game.
Winners of this week’s regionals will advance to Super Regional play next weekend.
