This is the time of year when students are scrambling around filling out last minute scholarship applications in hopes for funding towards their college education.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Girls in Football Scholarship is a big one and the deadline is April 19 and applications must be turned in by 3 p.m. Established by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation, Inc. the scholarship program has been established to financially assist female high school seniors who are participating in football sports, tackle, flag, and touch, etc.
Sneads High School recently spotlighted a Powder Puff Football Game. The scholarship may be a great opportunity for interested seniors to apply.
According to the website found at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation Girls in Football Scholarship (scholarsapply.org). Eligibility for the scholarship is as follows:
• Be a female high school senior participating in a form of football, tackle, flag, touch, etc.
• Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming year.
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
• Plan to use their college education/experience to make an impact in the sports industry.
• Write an essay of 500 words outlining how they will use their career choice to make a positive impact in the sports industry.
Two more scholarships available to our local high school seniors are Mount Moriah Church $1,000.00 Dreamers Scholarship and Restoration Network Christian Caldwell $1,000.00 Scholarship.
