Havana Garden Club celebrates 40th anniversary

On May 14, the Havana Garden Club celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Havana Country Club with an indoor garden party.

Several tables were devoted to the history of the club, and a chronology board was set up nearby. Each dining table was decorated by a different section of the club and were truly works of art, as were the club members in their pretty spring frocks and magnificent hats.

Garden Club President Edna Hall Whitehead introduced past presidents after a delicious buffet meal and bestowed lifetime memberships on two members: Barbara Spooner and Margaret Staron, in recognition of their exceptional contributions.

Each attendee received a booklet of helpful gardening information to take home with them.
