Jaguars basketball season is underway – Tis the season for jump shots and slam dunks.

It was a narrow lead, but the Suwannee Bulldogs took the win over the Gadsden County Jaguars Varsity Boys Basketball Team last Saturday night. The final score of 57-52 more than proves it was a good game! The Jags won their first two basketball games of the season starting out with a 66-58 win against the Cairo Syrupmakers on Nov. 21 and a 70-61 win against the St. John Paul II Panthers on November 24.

This season is beginning to look very promising for the Gadsden County Jaguars Varsity Boys as they have hopes for many more winning games to add this year’s list.

Last season was almost an even balance of wins and losses for the Jags. They won 11 games and lost twelve. That is not a bad season, but they are ready to make 2023 a much better season. Does the name Nasir Williams ring a bell? It should! He made headlines during football season and now is hitting the basketball court  to show off more of his athletic skills.

The Lady Jaguars have also started their basketball season in hopes of warming up to better days. On Nov. 20 they traveled to Panama City to play against the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers. It was a very good and close game with a final score of 49-48 but they lost by one point. On Nov. 21 the Lady Jaguars were back on the road traveling to Biloxi, Mississippi where they brought home their second loss of the season to the Indians 74-8. With thirteen more games on the schedule the ladies are sure to bounce back with more wins this season and hopefully out best last year’s overall outcome of three wins and eleven losses.
