Boys’ High School Hoops Scoop

CROSSROAD CHARTER

The Scorpions won two games last week and held a 16-6 record going into play this week.

Wednesday, Crossroad led Franklin County 43-25 going into the fourth quarter then held on for a 58-52 victory. Dedric Streeter led the Scorpions’ balanced attack with 11 points. Jaylen Martin, Jeremiah Outley and DeAndre Lawson added nine each in the home win.

Thursday, Crossroad came up with another home win, knocking off district foe Aucilla 57-42 behind a 27-point effort from Martin. Jamal Dixon had a 14-point, 10-rebound game in the contest.

Crossroad hosted Madison Tuesday.

GADSDEN COUNTY

Gadsden High played only once last week and lost a home game to a strong Rickards team, 46-30.

The Jaguars played at Mosley Tuesday.

MUNROE

Jaddon Derico’s put- back of a missed free throw gave the Bobcats a 62-60 over Liberty County Tuesday, climaxing a come-from-behind home win over the Bulldogs.

Munroe trailed by 12 points midway through the third quarter, but came back behind a 21- point effort from Tyrek Barkley and 12 points from J.R. Harrison and 11 from Max Reinhard.

The Bobcats then lost to Southwest Georgia 60-42 Friday, before hammering Wakulla Christian 63-44 Monday in the Bobcat Gym.

Reinhart’s 15 led the scoring in the encounter and Nasser Mohammed added 14.

TALLAVANA CHRISTIAN

The Lion have finished their regular season and will play in first-round district action against Crossroad Charter at Munroe on Tuesday night.

That game will be preceded by host Munroe against Aucilla Christian.
