Langworthy’s blast sends Gators back to Omaha

Austin Langworthy hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the eleventh inning Monday night to give the Florida Gators a 3-2 win over Auburn and send them back to the NCAA Baseball College World Series that starts Saturday in Omaha.
Langworthy’s blast actually caromed off of the Tiger’s right fielders glove and ended the tedious affair giving Florida the victory in the tied up two-of-three series.
Jonathon India had put the Gators ahead with a first inning home run and Florida stole home for their second run.
Auburn scratched back with a pair of runs sending the game into extra innings.
Florida closer Michael Byrne held The Tigers at bay with four innings of scoreless pitching setting the stage for Longworthy’s hit.
It sends the defending champion Gators back to Omaha for the fourth consecutive year and for the seventh time in the past nine years.
Florida had won the first of the series Saturday 8-2 before Auburn came back to tie it with a walk-off 3-2 tenth inning win Sunday.
The Gators will play Texas Tech at 7PM Sunday on ESPN2 in their first series game.
Two other SEC teams (Arkansas and Mississippi State) also gained College World Series berths over last weekend.
