Man charged with shooting woman with pellet pistol

A Gadsden County man, Carlos Hutley, was arrested and charged last week with shooting a woman with a pellet pistol — with the woman claiming that his abuse had been going on for some time.

Hutley was arrested after authorities received an anonymous report of domestic violence.

The victim told deputies with the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office that Hutley had shot her in the hip with a pellet pistol.

She also said Hutley had previously hit her on the forehead with a handgun; threw a cell phone at her face; and shot at her with a handgun and a shotgun.

Investigators found injuries on the victim that reflected the abuse she had described. They also discovered damage to the walls and furniture in the home where Hutley had allegedly shot at the victim.

Hutley was booked into the Gadsden County Jail on felony domestic battery charges.
