News Brief: Computer, fitness classes among programs offered at local library during month of September

In the month of September, the Gadsden County Public Library system will kick off a variety of fun, educational programs for all ages.

Computer classes on Windows 10 will begin at 5:30 p.m., next Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Havana Public Library and Thursday, September 27 at William A. “Bill” McGill Library. The classes review the basics of the popular Windows 10 operating system, including how to search web browsers and surf the internet, as well as how to organize files and the fundamentals of importing and editing photos. Library officials say the classes are particularly valuable this time of year, as they help students learn how to create holiday photo collages, scrapbooks and the like.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., next Saturday, September 29, the Havana Public Library will host an Instagram Workshop for locals interested in learning how to use or improve their skills on the popular photo-sharing social media platform.

Zumba classes, aimed at helping Gadsden County residents maintain a healthy lifestyle, are at 6:30 p.m. tonight, September 20, at the William A. “Bill” McGill Library in Quincy. The free class is instructed by Jasmin Richardson-Sutton of Zumba with Chocolate Waisted Fitness and is open to anyone ages 18 and up. Those interested should stop by the library to fill out a fitness waiver prior to attending the class.
