Obituary: Tommy Houck

Mr. Tommy Houck, 62, a lifelong resident of Havana, Florida passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Quincy, FL.

He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending church.

He loved growing crops and generously giving his harvest away to others.

Tommy was always the first to volunteer and assist another farmer in need.

He cherished his precious wife, Michelle, and loved his family and friends dearly.

Tommy enjoyed traveling to and exploring new places as well as finding a good auction to attend.

He especially enjoyed family celebrations where he could sit back and watch his family fellowship and enjoy one another.

Tommy was a beloved husband, son, brother and uncle.

He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends made throughout the years.

Tommy is survived by his precious wife of 20 years, Michelle Whitfield Houck; one sister, Frances Whittaker of Havana, FL; two brothers, William Charles Houck and his wife Linda of Havana, FL; and Edward Houck and his wife Bonnie of Bandon, Oregon; two sisters- in-law, Pat Franklin and her husband Joe of Graceville, FL and Jo Smith and her husband Van of Bainbridge, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Mike Hankin of Havana, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Evelyn Houck; and two sisters, Gail Houck and Doris Oliver.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM EDT.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM EDT at the First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee with Rev. Robert Johns and Rev. Barry Cottle officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with McAlpin Funeral Home directing.
