One dead, four injured in Saturday night crash on State Road 267

A single-car accident last Saturday in Gadsden County claimed the life of one and left four others in serious to critical condition.

Around 5 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 44-year-old Kelvin Cannon was driving north on State Road 267 near the County Road 272 crossing when he lost control of his vehicle, entering the southbound lane and west shoulder, a Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson said.

The car eventually overturned on its passenger side before colliding with a tree.

The wreck killed a backseat passenger, 50-year-old Reginald Wilson. Ciara Lockwood, the 26-year-old front seat passenger, was “critically injured.”

The vehicle’s remaining occupants – Cannon, a one-year-old girl and three-year-old boy – suffered “serious injuries.” Authorities say the two children were not properly restrained.

The crash victims were all transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
