Quincy adopts alcohol ordinance

The Quincy City Council voted to allow locations that once sold alcohol to do so again through grandfathering as long as some store at that location has sold alcohol within the past 10 years.

The idea behind the ordinance is to restore businesses that shuttered as a result of the 2008 recession.

The vote for the ordinance was 4 to 1, with Council Member Derrick Elias casting the dissenting vote.
