Local golfers and Quincy Kiwanis Club golfers teed up in the 20th Annual Quincy Kiwanis Club Richard Combs Scholarship Golf Tournament April 27.
he Tournament was played at the Golf Club of Quincy. Golf chairpersons Glenn Sapp, Isaac Simmons and Kacy Dennis reported that this year’s fundraiser netted more than each of the last two years. The tournament raises money the Kiwanis Club awards as $1,500 scholarships to local high school graduates.
The club plans to award three scholarships this year – one each to a student from Crossroad Academy Charter School, Gadsden County High School and Robert F. Munroe Day School. Special prizes were awarded to tournament winners.
Tournament Winners: A Flight 1st Place – Paul Geletko and James Kole. B Flight 1st Place – Steven Wilkerson and Wilson Hinson. C Flight 1st Place – Ralph Higdon and Frank Allman. Putting Contest: 1st Place – Eric Jackson, 2nd Place – Steve Wilkerson,; 3rd Place – Paul Geletko. Closest to the Pin (#12): Rick Beyer. Closest to the Pin (#4): Ralph Higdon. Longest Drive – Women: Ellie Jane Riner. Longest Drive – Men: Britt Bizzell Longest Putt: Ralph Jaeger.
