Third victim identified in Quincy homicide, arson

Police have identified the third and final victim found in the charred wreckage of an early morning house fire in Quincy, July 27.

Odessa Robinson, 52, is the third victim positively identified in this case. The Medical Examiner’s Office ID’d Laferrick Robinson, 22, and his father, Willie Robinson, 49, earlier this month. All three were victims of murder, and a multi-agency task force is currently investigating the crime, Quincy Police Chief Glenn Sapp said.

Authorities believe the three were living in the abandoned house at the time of the murder and subsequent fire.

Crime Stoppers and the Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention are offering a combined reward of $10,000 for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with any information should contact Quincy Police Capt. Robert Mixson at (850) 627-0138.

At 2:15 a.m., Friday, July 27, a Quincy Police sergeant reported a house on fire at 622 7th St., Quincy, a Quincy Police Department press release states. When the Quincy Fire Department responded approximately three minutes later, the house was fully engulfed in flames, but firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly, the press release adds.

While inspecting the scene, fire department officials discovered three bodies inside the dwelling,. The fire is currently being investigated by a task force comprised of the Quincy Fire and Police departments, the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).
