Tractor trailer overturns on I-10

Early Sunday morning, a tractor trailer driven by Raul Marrero, 47, of Miami Gardens, overturned on I-10 in Gadsden County, while heading eastbound near mile marker 176.

At around 4:30 a.m., an unknown driver traveling in the inside lane pulled in front of Marrero, then “brake-checked” (or hit the brakes suddenly and forcefully), causing Marrero to swerve the truck and trailer to keep from hitting the other vehicle as the other driver pulled away, Florida Highway Patrol reports.

The highway patrol report states Marrero tried to regain control of his vehicle, swerving onto the south shoulder before spinning back counter-clockwise to the roadway.

Marrero then tried to regain control of his vehicle by counter-steering before his truck eventually overturned onto its side. Marrero’s vehicle came to final rest on its side facing south.

Troopers have no description of the vehicle or driver Marrero accused of causing the accident.

Marrero did not suffer any injuries and alcohol was not a factor the report stated.
