Sneads basketball season starts now – May the bounce of the basketball take flight towards a season of success for the Pirates.

Now that football season is over you are going to see familiar faces out on the Sneads Varsity Boys Basketball court. Sneads seniors Jason Patterson, Jaydan Walker, Kurdiss Baker, Aaron Williams, and Treven Pruett, have hung up their football gear and are now ready to show a different set of their athletic skills before the cap and gowns are put on for graduation.

The Sneads basketball season officially starts this week as the pirates team travels to play the Holmes County Blue Devils. The pirates did not play the Blue Devils last season but are ready for the faceoff in hopes of bringing home a win for their starting game.

Sneads had a great run last basketball season with 19 wins and 8 losses. Their toughest games were against the Ashford Yellowjackets, Geneva Panthers, Walton Braves, Bethlehem Wildcats, Marianna Bulldogs, Paxton Bobcats, Bozeman Bucks, and Cottondale. Ashford, Geneva, and Bozeman are not on the new schedule for this season. Their first home game is scheduled for Dec. 5 when they will host the Ponce De Leon Pirates. There are eleven home games out of the twenty-four games scheduled which gives fans plenty of opportunity to show up and show support for the team.

The Sneads Varsity Girls Basketball team has already begun their season with a big win of 47-12 against the Altha Wildcats. They will be hosting a home game for the Maclay Marauders on Dec. 5. Last season was not so good for the girls as they only brought in two wins out of a twenty-five-game schedule.

The Pirates basketball teams are out playing a game they love and would appreciate to see the community pack the stands in support of their chosen sport.
