The City of Gretna, Florida, proposes to consider for adopt the following ordinance which upon adoption  will change the City’s Water, Sewer, and Garbage Rates:  

CITY OF GRETNA 

ORDINANCE NO. 2023-2 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2022-5  

RELATING TO WATER AND SEWER RATE CHARGES;  

CHANGES MINIMUM RATES BASED ON WATER AND  

SEWAGE USAGE FOR RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL AND  

HIGH VOLUME/OR INDUSTRIAL USERS; INCREASES THE  

MINIMUM BASE RATE ON WATER USAGE FROM $15.61  

PER MONTH TO 15.92 PER MONTH ON SEWAGE USAGE  

FROM $17.55 PER MONTH TO $17.90 PER MONTH AND ON  

GARBAGE FROM $26.78 TO 28.79 PER MONTH FOR  

RESIDENTIAL USERS; INCREASES THE MINIMUM BASE  

RATE ON WATER USAGE FROM $29.00 PER MONTH TO  

$29.58 PER MONTH AND ON SEWAGE USAGE FROM $29.00  

PER MONTH TO $29.81 PER MONTH ON GARBAGE  

SERVICE FROM $43.90 TO $47.19 PER MONTH PER MONTH  

FOR COMMERCIAL USERS; INCREASES THE RATES  

CHARGED FOR HIGH VOLUME/OR INDUSTRIAL USERS  

BASED ON METER SIZE; ESTABLISHES SCALES FOR ALL  

CUSTOMER USAGES ABOVE THE BASE RATE; INCREASES  

REQUIRED SECURITY DEPOSITS AND PROVIDES AN  

EFFECTIVE DATE. 

The Second/Final public hearing will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 6:30 PM, in the City  Commission Chambers, Gretna City Hall, and 14615 Main Street, Gretna, Florida 32332. Notice is hereby  given that all interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard by the City Commission with respect  to the proposed ordinance listed above. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available at Gretna City Hall,  14615 Main Street, Gretna, Florida, and may be inspected by the public. Any persons who decide to appeal  the decision by the City Commission with respect to this matter will need a record of the proceedings and  that for such purpose the person making the appeal will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the  proceedings is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
